History of Indian Classical Music through Postage Stamps
India Post regularly honors important people, events and things - which represent cultural, scientific, geographical, historical, developmental etc. aspects of India - by issuing commemorative stamps of them. Unlike regular (i.e. definitive) stamps, commemorative stamps are bigger in size, and represent the theme very distinctively with the help of printed pictures on them. Because of beautifully printed pictures, these commemorative stamps are famous as collectibles. Along with postage stamps, India Post also issues "First Day Cover", "Information Sheet", "Maxim Card" etc, along with the stamp. They help in elaborating the story behind the stamp.
